Ann describes her flat, neighbours and neighbourhood, and we use prepositions of manner and yes/no and wh- questions to talk about places.

مفردات الدرس: neighbour: someone who lives close to you · lift: it carries people from one floor of a building to another · pharmacy: a shop where we can buy medicine · building: something with walls and a roof · basement: the floor under the ground in a building

• The prepositions of manner by, as, like, on and with show how something is done.
• We use by to talk about how we communicate, pay and travel, but we say on foot.
• Some questions have yes/no answers. Others ask for information and start with what, when, how or why.
